For any training, boarding, or day care service where your dog will be staying with us even for a short period of time we require the following:
Current Rabies and certificate
DAPP (Distemper/Parvo) vaccine either 1yr or 3yr
A Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine
negative fecal (stool) test within the past 6 months
-
Due to the high volume of dogs that visit and stay with us we ask that each dog meet these standards to reduce the risk of communicable diseases.
Fecal tests are due every 6 months even if your vet only requires it once a year.
Bordetella may be due every year or 6 months depending on how it was administered.

No. The SNAP fecal enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) Giardia test is used to determine the prevalence of Giardia alone.
We require Zinc sulfate fecal flotation, also known as a fecal floatation. This is a technique used to separate parasites from fecal debris and increase the chances of detecting them. This tests for roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, protozoal cysts/oocysts/trophozoites (e.g., Giardia, Toxoplasma, coccidia).

Depending on how the Bordetella vaccine was given, it has different lifespans.
If injected or given intranasally, the vaccine will last 6 months.
If your dog was given an oral mist, it will last 1 year.
Again, this may be different than what your vet clinic requires.
